NDIS support

Participate Community

Take part in the things you enjoy, with people you enjoy them with.

What it is

In plain language

Participate Community is support to get out and be part of everyday life outside the home. That might be a sports club, a class, a place of worship, volunteering, a local group or simply meeting a friend for coffee.

We start with what you actually like, not with a list of activities we already run. From there we find what is available near you, go along while you settle in, and slowly step back as you get comfortable.

The long term aim is real connection, where the group knows you and you can keep going with less or no paid support.

What this can include

Examples of the support

Support is always tailored, so your plan may include some of these, all of them, or something different again.

  • Finding clubs, classes, groups and events that match your interests
  • Support to attend and settle in to a new activity
  • Support with social skills and starting conversations
  • Help to keep up friendships and stay in contact with people
  • Volunteering and civic activities such as community events
  • Support to attend sport, recreation and cultural activities
  • Planning that reduces support as natural connections build
